MIDFIELDER Greg Tansey is set to be unveiled as Caley Thistle's first new summer signing after he announced the move on social networking website Twitter.

The 22-year-old midfielder, joined Stockport County as a trainee in September 2006, made 41 appearances last season and was their top scorer with 11 goals.

"I'm going to Inverness," he tweeted last night. "Looking forward to it."

His goal against Northampton won a Goal of the Season prize but he was released after the Cheshire club suffered relegation from England's League Two last month.

Earlier in his career he helped Stockport's under-18s win the Football League Youth Alliance League Cup and was taken on a summer tour of Italy by Liverpool. After the trial he decided to stay with County to fight for first-team football.

Inverness manager Terry Butcher is set to announce who he has signed and which players have extended their contracts with the SPL club today.

Meanwhile, it the Highlanders appear to have arranged a friendly in Northern Ireland against Linfield for 9th July. ICT are also set to face Livingston at Almondvale Stadium on the same day.
