Caley Thistle prepare to face Greenock Morton at the Caledonian Stadium on Saturday, eight days after suffering their first defeat of the season.

Inverness missed the chance to go top of the league after a disappointing result in Glasgow.

Midfielder Shaw says the entire squad know they let themselves down on Friday and they are determined to put things right against Morton this weekend.

“We all know that it was a disappointing result on Friday night.

“We have to play better than that and that’s what we are looking for.

“We went into the game off a good result, it was always going to be a tough game, but it did catch us by surprise. We let ourselves down because we didn’t perform to the levels that we are capable of.

“It is a tough league and there is a lot of football to be played, but we need to get results at tough places.”

Shaw (21) arrived at Inverness from English National North League team AFC Fylde.

He says he is enjoying playing at a higher level of football and relishing the challenge of getting Inverness back into the top flight of Scottish football.

“I have enjoyed coming in, they are a good football club and it is a great place to play football,” said Shaw.

“It is a better standard where I am now.

“It is going to be harder level to play at and I am testing myself against better players.

“But I am ready for the challenge.

“It is a great bunch of lads who have a lot of quality and work hard. I will look to chip in with goals and assists which can help us win.

“All the staff have been really good to be fair, I really enjoy coming in and working with them.

“Hopefully I can keep them going well.”
