CALEY Jags midfielder Ryan Christie is now on the brink of signing a four-year contract with Scottish champions Celtic.
If he passes his medical this afternoon (Tuesday), the deal will be rubber-stamped ahead of the 6pm transfer window deadline.
The Scotland under-21 starlet is understood to have clinched the move to Parkhead after the clubs agreed a fee reported to have been in the region of around £500,000.
Christie, son of Inverness CT legendary player and manager Charlie, will be loaned back to Caley Thistle until the New Year, although it could yet be extended until the end of the season.
The Highland club are seeking to bring in Swindon Town striker Miles Storey (21) on loan until the New Year and potentially one other player.
One forward who will not be joining the Inverness side is Celtic's Anthony Stokes, who ICT manager John Hughes brought to Scotland when he was at Falkirk and Hibs.
Stokes has dropped down the pecking order at Celtic but it's understood, financially, ICT are not in a position to attract him north.
