Caley Thistle Women facing player shortage ahead of Scottish Cup

Inverness Caledonian Thistle Women’s first team are facing a selection crisis for their Scottish Cup tie against Hutchison Vale this weekend in Edinburgh.

Team manager Karen Mason only has 10 players available at the moment for the trip to Saughton.

The player shortage means she is preparing to don the goalie’s gloves herself as none of her regular goalkeepers are available for selection.

“You could say we are facing the perfect storm with injuries, holidays and work commitments which have decimated our squad of 22 registered players,” Mason explained.

“At the moment I only have a squad of 10, including myself, but I am hopeful things might change by the weekend."
