The 25-year-old defender came through Middlesbrough's youth academy before making his senior debut with Accrington Stanley, where he went on to make over 100 league appearances.

He then moved on to Portsmouth and spent last season out on loan at Fleetwood Town, scoring four goals in 35 league matches, before being released from Fratton Park.

Although primarily a right back, the Englishman has also filled roles in central defence and defensive midfield at various times throughout his career to date.

“I’m delighted to bring Callum to Ross County," Staggies boss Malky Mackay said.

"He is a player that our recruitment department have spent time tracking and at 25 years old we feel he is coming in to the prime of his career.

“He has really good experience in the English game, and we look forward to working with him here in Dingwall and welcoming him to our club.”
