KELSEY MacDonald will make a bid to claim a second title at the Scottish Women’s Amateur Championship, which takes place at Tain next week.
Starting on Tuesday with the first of two qualifying rounds and finishing on Saturday, the traditional links course at Tain, designed by Tom Morris, previously hosted the Scottish Girls Championship on 2005.

With the defending champion Louise Kenny (Pitreavie) not at Tain and Curtis Cup selection Pamela Pretswell taking the decision not to enter, MacDonald will view this as another opportunity to add to her trophy collection.
The Stirling University student is bidding for a second championship win, which would help eradicate some of the disappointment of her omission from Great Britain and Ireland’s Curtis Cup squad that takes on America and Nairn Golf Club next month.
A good show from Abernethy’s Hannah McCook could see her progress from junior to full international cap, while local girl Sammy Vass gets home in time from her USA college studies and much will be expected from her next week.
