LOVAT look to extend their perfect record in the 2014 Orion Premiership to three matches, but face a tricky assignment at Lochaber tomorrow.

Manager Alan MacRae is playing down the fact that this will be the Spean Bridge side’s first match of the new season after the club missed out on weeks one and two of the new season as they paid their respects to former player Bryan White, who was tragically killed in a road accident two weeks ago.

"I know what is being said — that they will be rusty, that they have hardly lifted a stick since the end of last season — but I fully expect them to give us as hard a game as we have had so far," he said

MacRae fully expects to lose the services of attacker Lorne MacKay, who was red carded at Kingussie last Saturday.

Owen Ferguson and Calum MacAulay could be added to the squad that beat Kingussie 3-1 as he plots to overcome a side which his charges failed to beat in the 2013 campaign after recording home and away draws.

Glenurquhart face the long trek to Tighnabruaich to a face a Kyles side, who have had a rather bruising start to the new season.

Defeats in their opening two matches has left the Argyll-shire side’s title aspirations in tatters, but on their tight pitch at Kames they will be a wholly different prospect.

The Glen have injury concerns with 2013 club player of the year Ally MacKintosh, out with a knee injury, while Andy Corrigan is also missing as he recovers from a serious hand injury sustained in the opening match against Kinlochshiel.

In the other two matches top flight matches, Kinlochshiel entertain Kingussie with both sides seeking their first victories in 2014 and Newtonmore look good value to continue their winning start to the new season with Inveraray the visitors to the Eilan.

Beauly have spent the week trying to erase the memory of last Saturday’s chastening 5-1 home defeat by Kilmallie in the Marine Harvest National Division, although there will be precious little time for self-pity ahead of the visit of the highly rated Oban Camanachd (throw-up 1.30pm).

In North Division One, Inverness manager Alan MacLeod hopes to build on last Saturday’s 6-1 win over Lovat when his side face Beauly reserves at Bught Park.

The match of the day in this division will be at Cannich where Strathglass and league leaders Newtonmore clash, while Glenurquhart and Lovat both have home advantage against Skye and Kingussie respectively.
