Loch Ness manager Shane Carling hopes his side’s Premier Division Cup triumph will only be the start of silverware coming their way this summer.

A 3–1 win over Culloden Blacksmiths ensured that the reigning league champions would claim the cup this year too, with Luke Seago scoring two brilliant goals before Ricky Lee gave Loch Ness a strong advantage.

It was not easy going for Carling’s men, who conceded a late goal to add some jeopardy to the final.

However, with the Premier Division Cup in the bag, sitting top of the league table and looking ahead to the Association Cup next month, Loch Ness have eyes on adding to their trophy collection before the season is over.

“Hopefully there are more trophies to come,” Carling said.

“We won the league last year, so it would be nice to hold on to that and to win it again.

“The squad is good enough, there’s a good bunch of boys there, so if we keep playing the way we’ve been playing we’ll be up there.

“We lost against Black Rock early in the season.

“We were the better team, but they put the ball in the net. Other than that, we’ve been playing well and getting results, so we just have to keep going. We’ll try to keep getting results and see where that takes us.”

Twice in the first half Seago cut inside from the left flank before picking out the top corner.

Lee’s goal, though, was the result of a well-worked team move, with Lee being on hand to finish from relatively close range.

Elsewhere in the Inverness and District Football Association over the weekend, First Division sides were in league action.

Black Isle United returned to the top of the table on goal difference after a 5–0 win over Balloan.

Alexander Mackay scored a hat trick, supplemented by goals from Ross Munro and Ruari Rogan.

Inverness Athletic beat Drakies 8–4, with Ross Mackinnon, Logan Dunsmore and Ethan Brown all claiming braces with Bradi Hulme and Gregor Jackson adding a goal apiece.

Conon Bridge sit fourth after defeating Invergordon 2–0.
