The 23-year-old striker has arrived at the Caledonian Stadium from English League One outfit Accrington Stanley in a deal which will last until the end of the season.

He came on as a second- half substitute in the 1-0 defeat at Kilmarnock last weekend.

Hardy says he was convinced to head to Inverness encouraged by their position in the table and wants to help fire them to title success.

“It was a massive pull, and the experience of winning games to try and get to the top of the table,” he said.

“It is something the whole team are looking to try and do.

“I looked at how well they play, and that they are pushing for the title, and that it will make it an exciting end to the season. I want to get a real grasp of my football, I want to win the league and score goals and help the team.”

Hardy says it was disappointing to start his time at Inverness with defeat at Kilmarnock.

But he says he has seen enough quality in the squad to make him confident things will turn around.

“I have been really impressed so far and training is of a good standard.

“They pass the ball and kept the ball against Kilmarnock.

“It is a shame we couldn’t get the goal at the end but we will do that against most teams and we will keep the ball.

“Once we get the opportunities, we have to take them and that is how we will win the league.”

It is the first time Hardy has played in Scotland having previously played for clubs such as Liverpool and Brentford.

He says he still has a lot to learn about the Scottish game, but is looking forward to the challenge.

“It is a bit of learning experience, I haven’t played here before but I am looking forward to it.

“It’s a lovely place to live and looking forward to getting going.”

Speaking about working under Billy Dodds, he said: “Us small strikers stick together, and I’m looking to learn from him and make the most of it.”
