Clachnacuddin manager McLeod hopes breakthrough stars can keep improving after enforced break

Clachnacuddin manager Sandy McLeod hopes his young stars can continue progressing when the Highland League eventually starts up again.

The decision was made last weekend to end the 2019/20 season, but there was no indication as to when football would resume.

For Clach, who were in the middle of a rebuilding process where several young players were being integrated into the first team, it could be months without chances to develop.

Match experience is the best learning tool for those Lilywhites prospects, but McLeod is keeping his fingers crossed that they will be able to pick up where they left off.

“Everyone’s in limbo, no-one knows what’s happening,” McLeod admitted.

“I don’t think there will be any problems with the young boys, they will look after themselves and be raring to go when the season starts. That’s what I hope anyway, I don’t think they need more motivation."
