Gordon Lennox says he is determined to do all he can to win his second Highland Cross in a row despite only deciding to defend his title at late notice.

The Kindeace athlete conquered the course last year to win the 2017 event for the first time in four attempts.

The defending champion was going to miss out on taking part on the 50-mile duathlon which involves a 20-mile run and followed by a 30-mile cycles to the finishing line.

But the Inverness Harrier decided at the last minute to enter the race.
