Steven Mackay was denied a winning start as manager of Nairn County as a late strike earned Inverurie Locos a point at Station Park.
Inverurie created the first real chance of the match when Jay Halliday saw hit shot from 20 yards out crash against the left post.
Nairn responded instantly when Liam Shewan found himself through on goal, and his shot beat Andy Reid, but it hit the right post.
Nairn County took the lead after 19 minutes when Conor Gethins received the ball from the right wing, he turned his marker before firing the ball into the net.
County doubled their advantage five minutes into the second half when Scott Davidson fired a wondergoal from 30 yards out straight into the top right corner.
Comor Gethins almost made it three soon after his thunderous free kick from the edge of the box stung the palms of Reid, who parried the ball out for a corner.
Adam Porritt also came close to adding a third when his spectacular volley from outside the box was well saved by Reid.
Locos pulled one back with 16 minutes remaining when Calum Dingwall's thunderous shot from the edge of the box stung the palm of Dylan Maclean, but he couldn't parry it away from the net.
Inverurie then equalised eight minutes from time Jamie Michie fired a powerful low drive from the edge of the box into the bottom left corner of the net to earn the visitors a point.
