Junior Freddie Brown on course for Nairn Dunbar success

HOME club junior member Freddie Brown has made a name for himself in the Nairn Dunbar Five Day Open by securing a semi-final place thanks to a comprehensive 6&5 win over clubmate Martin Britovsek.

Earlier in the day Brown eased into the quarter-finals thanks to a comfortable 3&2 victory over another fellow Nairn Dunbar member, Brian Ford.

He meets 2009 champion Craig Neilson (La Moye) who scored a 2&1 win over Nairn's Cameron Nelson.

The other semi-final will feature Nigg Bay's Gordon Grimmer who beat Jim Carrigay of Portrush by 3&2. He will meet Nairn stalwart Patrick Tomisson who defeated David Snape of Worfield at the 19th.
