Judo juniors in the medals at Ross-shire contest

FOUR members of Highland Budokan left the Ross-shire under-16 tournament in Invergordon with gold medals to show for their efforts.

A squad of 16 made the trip, bringing home a total of 12 medals, including four silver and four bronzes.

William Harkis, competing in the under-42kg category, took gold and this feat was repeated by Jack Grant in the under-34kg section.

Highland Budokan’s other two gold medals came courtesy of Joanna Maclennan (under-32kg) and Lewis Mackenzie (under-24kg).

There was silver for Darren Mota in the under-24kg class, while Hannah Murray (under-32kg), Daniel Hutcheson (under-38kg) and Nathan Van Horrik (under-42kg) also ended the competition as runners-up in their respective categories.

The medal haul was completed by Thomas Inglis (under-30kg), John Main (under-38kg), Rachael Dyer (under-48kg) and Adam Dyer (under-50kg), who all won bronzes.
