Inverness A have become the first Highland Table Tennis champions for 40 years.

The season concluded last weekend with Inverness A at the top of the standings – decades after the last Highland competition took place.

It was a close-fought battle throughout the campaign between the eventual champions and Moray, but a crucial victory in the penultimate round of games proved decisive in the destination of the crown.

Teams from across the north of Scotland took part, including squads from Fort William, Tain, Dingwall and Nairn.

Tain finished the season in third place, with Dingwall just outside the top three.

From an individual standpoint, 13-year-old Connor Cadden from Inverness ended the campaign with the highest average.

Connor is highly ranked in the Scottish junior set-up, as is younger sister Lacey (12) who will be representing Scotland at the Home International Primary School Championships in Jersey in May.

There, Lacey will be joined by Elgin's Alexander Stepney (11), who was another bright spark from the 2023/24 season.
