INVERNESS Swimming Club’s annual Graded Meet was largely dominated by members of the host club, many of them recording new personal best times.

Eighteen clubs from throughout the north of Scotland attended the event, some travelling to Inverness Leisure from as far afield as Shetland, Skye, Wick, Thurso and Aberdeen.

This helped to produce a strong entry of 227 youngsters between the ages of eight and 14 taking part in a competition where Inverness members excelled.

In the 36 events, the city club had swimmers placed between first and third in 14 of these.

A majority also posted new personal best times, some even cutting anything up to 25 seconds off their entry times.

The club will be having an open day in the near future where interested swimmers can come along and get involved in events.

More details will soon be announced on the club website, which is www.invernessswimmingclub.co.uk.
