A total of 36 players will be taking part in the 2022 competition which takes place at the 147 Pool and Snooker Centre in Inverness.

The Premiership and the Championship will consist of 10 players each with Division One and Division Two each having eight players.

The league has managed to attract 18 new players to the campaign from the previous season.

During the campaign, the Inverness Snooker League will also be raising money for Scottish Association of Mental Health (SAMH).

The charity works with adults and young people providing mental health social care support, services in primary care, schools and further education

Inverness Snooker League co-chairman John McAleaney says organisers of the competition are delighted with the number of entrants taking part this season.

They are also pleased that the league will be supporting a charity which does so much work for people in the community.

“We have had such a positive response, and now we’re trying to take a step up,” he said

“We have shown our support to SAMH and they too have shown us support, by sending us collection tins and t-shirts for us to use to help promote charity fundraising snooker competitions planned for over the season.”

As well as the Inverness Snooker League this season, other competitions will also be taking place.

This includes a snooker shoot-out competition which is planned for June.

The Inverness Snooker League is also looking for sponsors during the 2022 season.
