It will be the first time Glasgow have played on their home pitch since the United Rugby Championship quarter final against Munster in May, and Dobie will be centre stage for it.

The 22-year-old, who started his career as a mini at Highland Rugby Club in his hometown of Inverness and has gone on to win two caps for the senior Scottish side, told the club's media that he is very excited to be back in action in Glasgow and have the responsibility of captaining the team.

"I'm really excited to get back out there for the first time this season," the scrum half said.

"The group have had a tough few weeks of pre-season, which has been good after a break, but what we all want to be dong is getting out there at the weekend. It's a first run out for this group of boys, so I'm really excited to see what we can do.

"It's obviously a young group, quite a lot of inexperience, but that's exciting. It's a chance for a lot of boys to put their hand up. In pre-season everyone has been working really hard on improving.

"There's no pressure on this group to do anything, so I think we're just going to go out and put in a strong performance so that we can be proud and have something to build on next week.

"I'm really honoured to lead this group out, and I'm excited to see what we can do.

"Zebre will be well up for up. They've had a long pre-season and a couple of games already, but most of the focus we've had in the build-up has been on ourselves.

"Even this week we haven't looked too much at the opposition, we've just been focused on how we can bring our own game and where the chances will be for us.

"We know they will be physical, they always will be, and coming to Scotstoun teams will want to make a mark – especially after our results last season."
