Inverness Netball Club win thriller to move into Scottish Cup third round

Inverness Netball Club are through to the third round of the Scottish Cup after 38-36 victory over Shetland.

Inverness sealed a narrow two point win to secure victory at Inverness Royal Academy Sports Complex on Saturday.

They followed up their first round victory against Westhill in November to progress into the next round of the tournament.

Their third round opponents have yet to be revealed.

In the Highland Netball League, Inverness Diamonds continued their good form this season when they thrashed Lossie East 73-21.

Inverness Sapphires also put in a ruthless performance to defeated Lossie East 61-13 and Inverness Emeralds suffered a 60-20 lost to Gordonstoun.

Inverness have four teams that have entered the Highland and Moray Netball League.

At the start of the season, Inverness Netball Club had around 50 members, with 40 members playing in the four teams competing in the league and 10 recreational players in the club’s open sessions on Thursday nights.

The club play their home games and train at Inverness Royal Academy Sports Complex.
