Inverness Harriers athletes compete at British Schools International Pentathlon International in Glasgow.

INVERNESS Harriers athletes Zak Fearn and Storma Fraser competed at the British Schools International Pentathlon International in Glasgow.

Fraser was the top performing Scottish athlete as she finished in 11th place.

Fearn finished in 12th place in the over-16 boys competition.

Fraser threw 11 metres and nine centimetres in the shot putt, ran 9.82 seconds in the 60 metres hurdles, jumped four metres and 70 centimetres in the long jump and one metre 54 centimetres in the high jump before running two minutes, 27.34 seconds in the 800 metres.

She finished with a total points score of 3219.

Thea Brown of England won gold with 3859, Jessica Lee of Wales was second with 3671, and Ava John of England was third with 3646.

Fearn ran 9.08 seconds in the 60 metres hurdles, threw nine metres 69 centimetres in the shot putt, ran 23.29 seconds in the 200 metres, jumped five metres 73 centimeters in the long jump and ran 2.10.92 in the 800 metres to finish with 3068 points.

Hayden Christian of England won gold in a time of 3737 with Ben Heron of Scotland in second place with 3631 and Fintan Dewhirst third with 3473.

n The third round of the North Cross Country League took place last weekend at Dores.

Highland Cross champion Ross Gollan proved too good for the chasing pack as he claimed victory.

The East Sutherland Athletic Club runner dominated the field to take first place by 27 seconds as he recorded a winning time of 28 minutes and 26 seconds.

Moray Road Runners athletes claimed silver and bronze with Kenny Wilson in second place in a time of 28.53 and James Wilson third in 29.47.

Highland Hill Runners (HHR) athlete Sarah Attwood won the women’s race with 35.32.
