Inverness Harrier runs to 800 metre Scottish indoor title

Stephen MacKay became Scottish Senior Indoor 800 metres champion when he secured victory at The Emirates Arena in Glasgow on Saturday.

The Inverness Harrier took gold when he claimed the national title by three seconds.

He recorded a time of one minute, 52.18 seconds with Caleb McLeod of Pitreavie in second place in a time of 1.55.07 and Birchfield’s Christian Byron in third place in 1.55.39.

Inverness Harriers also had success at the Scottish Schools Indoor Championships.

Millburn Academy pupil Lois Macrae won the under-15 girls 1500m title with a personal best of 4.36.77.

Culloden Academy celebrated a hat-trick of winners with Murray Taylor winning the under-15 boys 60 metre hurdles in 9.59 and the High Jump at 1.65m. Lucas Davidson won the under-15 200m with 24.02. Marvellous Igbinidu won the 60m sprint in 7.91 and 200m in 25.87 at under-20 level.
