Inverness Harrier Amy Hudson wins north district title at Lossiemouth

Amy Hudson won the North District women’s 10-mile road race title at Lossiemouth on Sunday.
The Inverness Harrier achieved a personal best time by six minutes of 60:28.
She took third in the overall women’s race behind Aberdeen Metro’s Fiona Brian who won in 58:44.
Brian recorded a course personal best and the second fastest ever women’s time behind her Scotland team mate Jenny Bannerman’s course record of 57:49 in 2015.
Kerry Prise of Aberdeen AAC took the silver medal in a time of 60:22.
Fraserburgh athlete Lisa Allan finished second in the North District category in 64:55.
Inverness Harrier Catriona Fraser was district bronze medallist in a time 66:03.
She removed almost two minutes from her personal best.
Hudson created history earlier this year when she became their first women from Inverness to run the marathon under three hours.
In October, she ran 2:58:47 at the Chicago Marathon and was the first British woman to cross the line in the 26.2 mile race.
She beat the women’s club record by six minutes which was previously held by former Great Britain 400 metre runner Lesley Hansen who ran 3:04:50 at Stirling in April.
In the men’s competition, Moray Road Runners athlete James Wilson won the district championship in 54.34
He was second in the overall men’s competition won by Lachlan Oates of Shettleston Harriers in 52.53. Kindeace athlete Gordon Lennox was district runner-up and third overall in 55:03.
JSK Running athlete Tom Roche picked up district bronze in a time 56.22. Roche took the over-40’s title with Keith Buchan from Fraserburgh second and David Barclay from Garioch third.
David Weir from Forres won the over-50 title in 62:48 with Robbie Youngson from Fraserburgh second (63:44) and Robert Maclean of Ross County Athletics Club third (66:52).
Eric Simpson took the over-60 title in 73:01.
Lisa Allan from Fraserburgh won the over 40 women’s title, Maureen Mackie from Nairn won the over-50 title and Elisabeth Smart from Forres won the over-60 title.
Junior international high jumper Angus Davren showed set a new personal best of 7.09 seconds for the 60 metres at Aberdeen on Sunday.
