Inverness Caledonian Thistle 3 (White, Rooney, Welsh)

Partick Thistle 2 (Spittal, Doolan)

For so long it looked like Inverness Caledonian Thistle were on course for a comfortable win at home to Partick Thistle - but two late goals from the visitors left them clinging to all three points.

ICT took the lead after 11 minutes when Liam Polworth's shot from the edge of the box was tipped on to the post by Cammy Bell, but the keeper couldn't clear it and Jordan White was on hand to nod the ball into the empty net.

Caley Thistle's second came from a corner. Polworth swung the ball into the back post, and though Coll Donaldson's header back into the middle of the area didn't find a teammate it did eventually fall to Shaun Rooney who converted.

It was three on the half hour mark. That man again Polworth found himself through on goal but was hauled down by Brice Ntambwe. The referee pointed to the spot and showed the Partick player a yellow card.

Sean Welsh stepped up to the spot, and for the second time this season foudn the back of the net to give Inverness a comfortable lead.

But Partick had a chance to pull one back before half time when Storey was taken down barely inside the box. The ex-ICT striker stepped up himself, but saw his penalty saved by Mark Ridgers.

For a long time the second half threatened to be a non-event, but Partick came back with two late goals.

Blair Spittal took advantage of some hesitant defending close to the Inverness goal, and he beat Ridgers to get the visitors on the scoreboard.

Then deep in injury time, Kris Doolan diverted a fizzed cross high into the net - but even though that could have set up a nervy finish it was essentially the last kick of the game, meaning ICT saw out the win 3-2.
