Inverness draw Cabers in Camanachd Cup

INVERNESS have been paired with Caberfeidh in the preliminary round of the Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup.

The two North Division One rivals will go head-to-head on Saturday, April 7, as will Oban Camanachd, who will entertain Glenorchy.

The first round draw also took place today (Wednesday) and the winners of that Inverness v Cabers clash will face a testing tie away to another team in their division, high-flying Skye in Portree.

The other first round games, to be played on Saturday, May 5 are: Glasgow Mid Argyll v Oban Camanachd / Glenorchy, Oban Celtic v Beauly, Skye v Inverness / Caberfeidh, Strathglass v Aberdour, Lochaber v Lochcarron, Kilmory v Taynuilt.

* Scottish Hydro has signed a three year extension to their shinty sponsorship of the Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup competition and various youth activities.

The renewal represents an investment of more than £150,000 over the next three years. As well as the Camanachd Cup, the sponsorship will also cover youth development camp for under-17 players and the youth development fund.
