Alongside Sutherland Squad Club, they have been shortlisted for Scottish Squash's club of the year gong at the 2023 edition of the biggest annual celebration of squash in Scotland.

"There are a lot of great clubs across Scotland doing fantastic things for the development of Squash and we are extremely honoured to be recognised for our efforts."

Inverness are further represented in the awards shortlist as coach Malcolm Mackay is in the running for coach of the year.

“I am delighted to be nominated for Scottish Squash coach of the year," Mackay said.

“It is great to know that people have nominated me, and it is an honour to be recognised when there are so many great coaches across Scotland."

The final Highland contender is Scotland’s top ranked squash player, Greg Lobban, who is in the running for senior player of the year after a year which included a Commonwealth Games bronze medal and the Scottish Senior National Championships title.

Scottish Squash chief executive Maggie Still said: “The standard of nominations is exceptionally high this year, and it is great to see the shortlists packed with individuals that make great contributions to the continued development of squash in Scotland.

“The annual awards will give us a great opportunity – not only to celebrate the winners – but all of the individuals that help squash in Scotland to thrive and continue to go from strength to strength.

“Well done to all the nominees, and we are looking forward to a big celebration this October!”

Highlands and Islands Squash Association president John Georgeson said: “It is great to see so many from the region being recognised for all the hard work they put into the sport; from clubs, to coaching, and professional squash.

“So many from the Highland Region enjoy playing squash and it is thanks to these people and clubs, and many more, that allow this to happen.”

The Scottish Squash Annual Awards will take place on Saturday, October 7 at Glasgow University Union.
