Subject to Scottish Government restrictions to combat the omicron variant of Covid-19, Inverness City Boxing Club have announced a club show, and a professional show to take place in the Highland capital.

First, the Ironworks will play host to a club tournament show on Friday, January 21.

Then, a little further down the line on Saturday, March 5 three of the club’s top athletes will step into the ring for a professional show at the Drumossie Hotel.

It promises to be a full circle moment for Inverness City as a whole and in particular head coach Laurie Redfern, who has trained the trio of George Stewart, Adian Williamson and Callum Turnbull since they were 10 years old.

All three made the leap into the professional sphere last summer, signing with Stevie Maguire’s Glenrothes-based promotion.

Between them, Stewart, Williamson and Turnbull have over 100 amateur bouts on their records, and all three won gold medals at the International Box Cup in Cyprus before the pandemic, so the future should be bright for them.
