Cameron Harper rescued Inverness Caledonian Thistle as his late equaliser salvaged a point at Arbroath.

Adam Mackinnon, on loan from Ross County, looked to have scored the winner six minutes from time.

But Harper fired a low drive into the bottom left corner to give Inverness a share of the points.

Dunfermline Athletic 3-1 win at Partick Thistle last night meant Inverness dropped to ninth in the relegation zone.

Inverness are one point behind Queen's Park in eighth place.

Now they face Dunfermline Athletic at the Caledonian Stadium on Tuesday night as they look for only their third home win in the league this season.

Inverness made three changes to the team that drew 3-3 with Partick Thistle last week.

Aribim Pepple and Alex Samuel both started up front with Danny Devine back in as captain.

Max Anderson was suspended after being sent off against Partick Thistle with Jeremiah Chilokoa-Mullen out of action and Billy Mckay dropped to the bench.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle had the better chances in the first half with free kicks from Charlie Gilmour and Cameron Harper well saved by the goalkeeper.

Cameron Kerr also came close to giving Inverness the lead when he was unchallenged to connect with a Sean McAllister cross from the left wing. But Boruc did well to block his shot.

Aribim Pepple also came close to giving Inverness the lead when he saw his shot go inches past the right post as the two teams went into the break goalless.

The second half was largely a dull affair with neither team hardly creating any real chances. Inverness appealed for a penalty midway through the second half when they claimed Billy Mckay's shot hit the arm of Ricky Little, but referee Kevin Clancy waved play on.

But Arbroath took the lead with six minutes left when a corner into the box found Mackinnon to tap home from close range.

However, Harper came to the resuce in injury time when he fired a low drive into the bottom left corner.
