The 33-year-old, who has missed the last two games after suffering an injury before the clash at Dunfermline Athletic last month, will at least be on the bench at the Caledonian Stadium.

Head coach Billy Dodds is not sure if Mckay will start tomorrow’s clash against Morton, but says he has recovered well from his injury.

“He is on the training ground looking sharp and we need goals and that is the area I have added and Billy will always chip in,” he said.

“He was playing well before he got injured and I am delighted to have him back.

“He will definitely be in the squad.”

There is also encouraging news regarding centre back Danny Devine, who could return to the training ground next week after being injured against Dunfermline two weeks ago.

However, he will not be available for tomorrow’s match as well as Aaron Doran, whose comeback from injury suffered a set back this week.

Inverness play their next three matches at home starting with Greenock Morton and Dodds says it is vital they make home advantage count.

“We know we have to take a fair percentage of points through these three games and that is what I will relay to the players,” said Dodds.

He added: “They know themselves and with the backing of the fans, these home games are so important and if we get the fans behind us we can get the results we require.

“But we are at the stage we can’t kid on where we need points and get a mini run. Because you can see after the start of the season and three wins on a bounce it can propel you back to the top.”
