Inverness Caledonian Thistle have confirmed the signing of centre-back James Carragher on loan from Wigan Athletic until the end of the season, subject to international clearance.

The 21-year-old played at youth level with Liverpool before signing for Wigan Athletic in 2017.

Carragher is the son of Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher.

Carragher was the captain of Wigan’s Under 18 side as they won the U18s Professional Development League.

Carragher signed his first professional contract with Wigan in August 2021, and he made his debut for them in the EFL Cup against Hull City in September 2021.

Carragher had a loan stint with Oldham Athletic from September 2022 until January 2023, and he signed a new two-year deal at Wigan Athletic in April 2023.
