Billy Mckay rescued Inverness Caledonian Thistle to salvage a point in Kirkcaldy and maintain their undefeated start to 2023.

Caley Thistle have not lost to Raith Rovers in the league since August 2000 as their incredible run against them continues.

Raith took the lead with Lewis Vaughan opening the scoring on the half hour.

But Jay Henderson levelled three minutes after the break for Inverness.

Raith regained the lead after the hour mark through Aidan Connolly, but Mckay rescued Inverness with eight minutes to go.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle kept faith with the same team that drew 0-0 with Queen's Park two weeks ago.

Scott Allardice and Cameron Harper both made their returns from injuries as they were both named on the bench.

Raith got off to an encouraging start in the opening minutes of the game, when Jamie Gullan beat the Inverness defence to a cross from the wing.

His header clattered against the post to the relief of the beaten Mark Ridgers as the defence eventually cleared the ball away from danger.

But Raith did take the lead just before the half hour mark as Lewis Vaughan pounced on a loose ball and from 25 yards out thundered a strike past Ridgers.

Inverness drew level three minutes after the break when Billy Mckay's pass found Henderson in the box.

The midfielder kept his composure to fire a low drive past Jamie Macdonald to level.

But Raith retook the lead on the hour mark when Vaughan's pass found Aidan Connolly in the box.

The Inverness back line stood off him and he fired a terrific effort into the top left corner from 15 yards out.

Mckay pulled Inverness level again eight minutes from time when he nodded home a header from close range after he got on the end of Sean Welsh free kick to grab a point.
