Inverness Caledonian Thistle confirm defender signs for Premiership club Livingston

Inverness Caledonian Thistle have confirmed David Carson has joined Livingston following a permanent transfer deal being agreed between both clubs.

The 28-year-old, has signed for Livingston on an 18-month deal and could make his debut for the Lions against Rangers on Saturday.

He joined Inverness from Morpeth Town back in 2019.

During his first season Carson played 38 matches across all competitions as Caley Thistle sat in second place before the season was ended early due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He missed the initial start to the 2020/21 season due to injury but returned and during the season began to feature more at right-back rather than midfield. He was named the club’s Fans’ Player of the Year for 2020/21 for his performances.

In 2021/22, he made over 40 appearances at Caley Thistle reached the final of the Premiership Play-offs.

He was named the Fans’ Player of the Year for 2021/22 for his performances, for a second season in a row.

He reached his 100th game for the club at the start of the 2022/23 season in July against Queen’s Park. During 2022/23, David featured in 45 matches, and he scored an 88th minute winner against Greenock Morton in a 2-1 win for his second goal at the club.

Carson also featured in Caley Thistle's run to the Scottish Cup final, featuring in the wins against Livingston and Kilmarnock and in the final against Celtic.

Earlier this season, David played his 150th game for the club against Dundee United and in total he has played 163 matches for Inverness Caledonian Thistle and has scored twice.
