Head coach Billy Dodds says Inverness Caledonian Thistle will attempt to hunt down second place after securing their place in the Premiership play-offs.

Goals from Billy Mckay and Logan Chalmers saw Inverness come from behind to defeat Kilmarnock 2–1 last night to ensure their campaign will go beyond the regular season.

Inverness remain six points behind Arbroath with three games remaining, and Dodds is determined they target pole position in the play-off as they aspire for promotion to the top flight.

"Positions are financial and for the club it is good because you get a better budget and attract better players," he said.

"But the biggest thing is we are in the play-offs and we are good enough to beat anyone.

"It will be tough, but we need to try and finish second because that means two less games in the play-offs to get to the Premiership.

"If we don’t we play six to get to the Premiership.

"I have a group of boys that know if they get their chance they have the attitude to do it.

"We can beat anyone on our day."

Dodds says his players looked timid for the majority of the match against Kilmarnock.

But after going behind, he says they came alive and deserved to win the game.

"We knew we were giving up a man in midfield and I talked to my staff about it. "But I thought we would hurt them more in wide areas in two against one.

"A few of them looked timid. You can be timid but when you go a goal down you can feel sorry for yourselves and none of our players did.

"They had the bit between the teeth, the subs were brilliant when they came on and showed character and determination to turn it around.

"Once they got that equaliser, I thought we were the better team, we could have nicked a couple more. You can give up or you can go at it and we went at it."
