The 22-year-old joiner from Inverness is looking to notch up another victory in the super bantamweight contest, aiming to take another step closer to his dream of becoming a British champion.

Turnbull impressed when he won his first professional fight against Reiss Taylor in Inverness last month.

The boxer, nicknamed Titanium, won all six of his rounds.

Now the Inverness City Boxing Club pugilist is aiming to impress in the ring again.

“Trust me, i’m looking to be the next big thing in Inverness and fight for and win a British title,” said Turnbull.

“I am looking to do that and then build on that, I am in this for the long run and not the short term.

“Each fight is a learning curve and I am stepping up looking to get the win on Friday.

“I am buzzing for the fight, it is all I am thinking about just now.”

Turnbull has been boxing for 13 years, but was almost forced to give up the sport during his teenage years when he suffered an injury to his hand.

But he managed to recover saying it has made his journey to becoming a professional boxer even more satisfying.

“I hurt my hand which resulted in me having two operations and I was told that I would never box again.

“Thankfully, I managed to prove them wrong. I was 16 and I was training with a cast on, still running and sparring.

“It is physically hard, but it is also mentally hard, you need to have the mental willpower to get through it.

“I have managed to get through that and grateful to get through to where I am.

“Now that I have two working hands, I am looking to progress my career.”
