Inverness Athletic league ambitions suffer after loss to Halkirk United

INVERNESS Athletic's hopes of mounting a title challenge in the North Caledonian League are slipping away after a poor home defeat to Halkirk United.

Kyle Henderson gave Halkirk the lead after 32 minutes but Phil MacDonald levelled for Athletic two minutes later.

But Halkirk scored twice in the second half through James Mackintosh and Ben Gordon to take all three points back to Caithness.

Inverness Athletic remain in sixth place, nine points behind league leaders Invergordon.

All other North Caledonian League matches were postponed.
