INVERNESS Athletic will be hoping it’s a case of third time lucky when they play league North Caledonian League leaders St Duthus at Grant Park tomorrow.

Saints came out on top in the previous two meetings between the teams this season, but Athletic caretaker manager Jason Golabek is hoping for a change of fortune on this occasion.

Golabek is under no illusions about the task ahead but he has been impressed with his side’s commitment in recent weeks and backs his side to cause an upset. Despite 4–1 an 5–2 defeats against St Duthus already this term the Athletic boss fancies his side’s chances.

He said: “St Duthus have beaten us in the league and the cup but the team have being playing well lately.

“It was a very organised performance against Lewis and Harris last week - the work rate was very high. “If we can repeat that on Saturday we will have a chance of getting something from the game.

“I think a win against a top team is not far away - we will certainly give it our best shot.”

Athletic will be boosted by the return of Russell MacIntyre and Liam Symonds, but Liam Downie is unavailable.

St Duthus welcome back top scorer Ben Bruce and goalkeeper Jonny Allan along with Robbie Murray and Scott Maclean. However, Scott Miller and Finlay MacLeod are unavailable for the Tain team.
