Inverness Athletic are expected to include four loan signings in their squad in time for tomorrow’s North Caledonian League fixture against Halkirk United.

Athletic manager Jason Golabek revealed the deal for the quartet of players – a forward, two midfielders and a defender – was expected to be concluded last night.

The Athletic boss hopes the new influx of players will give his squad a much-needed boost as the Inverness side attempt to improve their league standing.

“We haven’t had a settled team in weeks, it’s just trying to get a balance,” said Golabek.

“Hopefully these four new players will help us with that.”

Athletic’s next five games are all away from home, starting at Morrison Park.

“We lost to Halkirk down here earlier in the season but it will be good to play on grass again,” said the Athletic boss.

“Hopefully we can rectify last week’s disappointing display against Golspie and get a result.”

However, Athletic could be without DJ MacPhee and Liam Downie for the trip to Caithness. Both players picked up knocks in the 4–0 defeat against Golspie and are major doubts.

Elsewhere, leaders Invergordon host Orkney, while St Duthus head north to play Golspie Sutherland and Bunillidh Thistle welcome Bonar Bridge to Couper Park.
