INVERNESS Athletic have recorded the biggest win in their history as they thrashed Thurso 13-0 in the North Caledonian League on Saturday afternoon.

Athletic proved ruthless in front of goal at Inverness Royal Academy as they steamrollered past a helpless Thurso outfit who are rooted to the bottom of the table.

Luke Mackay was the star of the show as he found the net seven times during the match, with him opening the scoring after just two minutes.

He scored four goals in the first half hour, with Tom Fulton and Kieran Goddard making it 6-0 to the hosts at half time.

White made it seven for Athletic, four minutes into the second half with Mackay getting his fifth two minutes later.

An own goal followed by Mackay scoring twice inbetween Ross Cooper's strike and a trialist finding the net completed the biggest win in Athletic's history.

The win moved Inverness Athletic up to seventh place in the table.

Elsewhere in the North Caledonian League, second place Loch Ness reduced the gap at the top with leaders Invergordon to three points with a 6-2 win over Golspie Sutherland.

Clachnacuddin A suffered a 4-3 defeat to Bonar Bridge who moved three points clear at the bottom of the table.

St Duthus beat Halkirk United 2-1 at Tain and Alness drew 3-3 with Orkney at Dalmore Park.

In the North Caledonian Cup quarter final Invergordon beat Fort William 1-0.
