Kirk Broadfoot was the hero for Inverness Caledonian Thistle as his header in injury time saved them a point against Partick Thistle

Brian Graham looked like being the hat-trick hero for Partick as he put the Jags in front three times at the Caledonian Stadium.

But the former Rangers defender nodded in a cross from close range to give Billy Dodds's men a point and keep Inverness in third place in the Championship with Partick remaining fifth.

It took Partick just eight minutes to take the lead when Ross Docherty found Scott Tiffoney on the left wing who crossed to find Brian Graham in the six-yard box who fired past Mark Ridgers into the net.

But Inverness Caledonian Thistle equalised midway through the first half as a fantastic cross from David Carson from the right wing found striker Billy Mckay who beat the offside trap from eight yards out from goal and volleyed past Jamie Sneddon.

But Partick regained the lead six minutes later when the same combination of Tiffoney's cross into the box found Graham unchallenged in the six yard box and he nodded the ball past Ridgers to make it 2-1.

Tiffoney was causing havoc on the left wing and he unleashed a thunderous strike from 25 yards out which forced Ridgers to parry the ball away from heading straight into the top right corner.

Partick continued to pile on the pressure in the first half and Kevin Holt came close to grabbing a third when his strike from 20 yards out went inches over the bar.

But despite being on the back foot for most of the first half, Inverness levelled on the stroke of half time when Reece McAlear’s corner kick found Shane Sutherland at the far post and the attacking midfielder nodded home from close range.

Just before the hour mark, Partick could have retaken the lead when Cammy Smith was allowed freedom at the edge of the box and saw his powerful strike went inches above the post.

But Partick took the lead with 20 minutes remaining they were awarded a penalty when Robbie Deas brought down Robbie Crawford with a scything challenge.

Graham made no mistake from the spot as he powered his spot-kick straight down the middle as Partick had the advantage once more.

Inverness surged up the field in search for an equaliser with Cameron Harper’s low drive forcing a fine save from Sneddon.

A minute later, winger Sam Pearson saw his strike from the edge of the box clatter off the right post and moments later Billy Mckay broke free of the Partick defence and his low drive beat Sneddon but went inches of the right post.

Logan Chalmers also came close to finding an equaliser for Inverness when his free kick curled around the defensive wall but was stopped from finding the net thanks to a great save from Sneddon.

But Broadfoot nodded a cross into the back of the net from close range to give Inverness a point.
