Robbie Deas now faces months on the sidelines after he suffered a broken leg in the 1-1 draw against Raith Rovers on Saturday.

The defender had to be assisted off the pitch at the Caledonian Stadium as he became the latest player to be sidelined.

He joins Shane Sutherland and Tom Walsh who are still recovering from anterior cruciate ligament injuries they suffered during the play-offs last season.

Defender Danny Devine and forward Daniel MacKay have also been out due to knee injuries.

Scott Allardice has yet to recover from a thigh injury he suffered in the match against Cove Rangers earlier this month.

Midfielder Roddy MacGregor also suffered an ankle ligament injury against Cove Rangers.

Austin Samuels has been out since September 17 after he went off in the 3-2 win against Dundee due to a recurring injury.

Defender Wallace Duffy was injured in the warm up before the 1-0 defeat to Hamilton Academical last week also due to an recurring problem.

Head coach Billy Dodds says the amount of players who are out at present was unprecedented. But he praised his depleted squad for still producing results which has put them at the top of the league.

Speaking after the game on Saturday, Dodds said: “Having no luck right now is an understatement.”

He added: “With the boys that I have left and it is not many, I can’t do nothing but praise them, they are grinding out results.

“That’s why I wanted a point from Hamilton. We deserved it as there was nothing in the game and to keep the run going and seven unbeaten.

“But it was too much for us, but that point against Raith puts us top of the league. A point in the championship is important, we want to win as many games as possible, but sometimes you have to grind and see what you get.

“Sometimes points can be disappointing, but sometimes points are great points especially in the face of adversity and that is what we got.”

Midfielder Nathan Shaw says the players available are determined to keep Inverness at the top of the table and they aim to keep finding positive results.

“Nobody can fault our work ethic at the moment as everyone is digging in for each other just now,” he said.

“We need to ride the storm and get through it and see how many points we can pick up and be where we want to be.”

Caley Thistle confirmed on Sunday Deas had suffered a broken leg and says he is now receiving treatment.

They said: “Robbie is a warrior and consistently one of the fittest players at the club and he will receive the very best treatment and rehab from our head of medical department Daniel Cluett and his team.”
