INVERNESS Caledonian Thistle will be missing David Wotherspoon for Saturday’s clash away at Ayr United with his contract also set to run out next weekend.

The Canadian midfielder, who arrived on a short-term deal in October, has suffered a hamstring injury which means he will miss the trip to Somerset Park.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle have made an offer to Wotherspoon to remain at Caley Thistle for the rest of the season.

Manager Duncan Ferguson said on Thursday: “No news could be good news. We can look to replace him, but he will be difficult to replace the quality.

“I can’t speak highly enough of the lad and his great professionalism.

“But if he goes we will try and find a player.”

Defender Danny Devine is also an injury concern for Caley Thistle after it was confirmed he missed training this week.
