Natalie Bodiam believes Caley Thistle Women's performance in their 3–0 win over Hutchison Vale was "worlds away" from disappointing results earlier in the campaign.

Bodiam, playing as a striker due to regulars elsewhere in the side being unavailable, opened the scoring in the first half before goals in the final five minutes from Tina Kelly and Lorna MacRae sealed a 3–0 win at Millburn Academy.

The Caley Jags were able to maintain control for the vast majority of the match, and were good value for both the clean sheet and the three-goal win, and Bodiam believes things are finally starting to come together for Inverness in the new-look division.

"It's a brilliant result," she said.

"We played them away at the beginning of the season and we were 3–1 up, but we ended up losing 4–3.

"In the last 10 or 15 minutes we just couldn't hold it together, and we've had a couple of games that had turned out that way, but today was worlds away from that.

"It was starting to become a bit of a bug bear of ours, so it was brilliant for everything to finally click across the whole 90 minutes, and not just the first hour or so.

"We've all been training hard, and I think today everything finally clicked – and the result proves that.

"We know where we went wrong in those games. The coaches have worked hard with us on the system that works for us, and we had the fight and desire today to work for each other."

On a personal level for Bodiam, it was nice to be back in the role she started out in – as a central striker, rather than on the wing.

She will have done her cause no harm by finding the net either, but whether she is through the middle, out wide or anywhere else in the team, Bodiam will be happy as long as she is on the pitch.

"It has been a wee while, so I was due a goal," she added.

"I'm delighted, as I am for the other girls who got on the scoresheet today and everybody else.

"Without all their support, we don't get the goals, so it's a team effort.

"I enjoyed being back up front. I was a striker for the first few years of my career, and I've been on the wing for the last six or seven years, so it was nice to get a wee jaunt back up front and get a goal.

"I'll play anywhere on the park if I'm told to, and I'll try my best."
