Inverness Caledonian Thistle will play either Brechin City or Buckie Thistle in the second round of the SPFL Trust Trophy.

The Championship outfit enter the competition at that stage, with League Two, Highland League and Premiership B teams kick off in the opening round.

Ross County B meanwhile will play Stirling Albion in Dingwall in the first round, with a match against Montrose waiting for them in the second round if they make it through.

First round ties are scheduled for August 10/11, while the second round will take place the following month on the weekend of September 4/5.

The Challenge Cup, which has had many previous names for sponsorship reasons, is regionalised and seeded for the opening two rounds, before becoming an open draw from the third round onwards.

This year, the competition will be bracketed from the third round too, allowing teams and supporters to plot their potential route to the final.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Ross County have been named the winners of the last three editions of the tournament, with ICT winning in 2018 and the Staggies claiming the trophy in 2019, before the 2019/20 final did not take place and the Caley Jags were named joint-winners with Raith Rovers.
