Caley Thistle head coach Billy Dodds says he was left 'disgusted' with the changing facilities provided to his team at Greenock Morton saying they were so bad, he would 'not put vermin in them.'

The Inverness boss was left furious with the condition of two portacabins his team were given to use at Cappielow for their Scottish Cup third round tie on Tuesday night.

Dodds says his squad were unable to use an upstairs portacabin due to no lighting and then had to give team talks at half time and full time in the dark due to problems with the generator.

He said in his 36 years involved in professional football, it was the worst facilities he has seen and called it a disgrace to the Scottish game.

Dodds voiced his frustrations to Morton assistant manager Andy Mullen and directors at the club.

Describing the facilities, he said: "We are in two portacabins, one up the stairs where there is no lighting which is a health hazard.

"I couldn't put my players up there because you can't see the stairs.

"The toilets are a disgrace, the generator didn't work and I had my half time team talk in darkness and full time team talk in darkness.

"I wouldn't put vermin in there and I told Andy that and said that to him before the game.

"I don't want this to sound like sour grapes, but Scottish football should be better than that.

"That is an absolute shambles, and I don't care what Morton think as I spoke to one of the directors.

"That is not acceptable for vermin going over there.

"My boys sitting freezing with two portaloos at the side, but I get told there are toilets around the corner.

"It doesn't matter about that, health and safety is an absolute disgrace going up there in a dark night freezing.

"I don't mind on a summer's day, but on a winter's night in December, travelling 400 mile round trip and we get hit with that.

"It is a disgrace to be treated like that and that is before the cup tie."

Caley Thistle were knocked out of the Scottish Cup third round on penalties after a 1–1 draw after 90 minutes.

However Dodds says he did not make his grievances known as a result of being knocked out of the competition, saying whatever the result, the facilities would be the same.

"I want to make it clear it is not me throwing toys out of the pram because people are saying he's out.

"This happened whether we won the tie or not. In Scottish football in all my life, I have never seen anything like that.

"They have apologised and they are good people, but I don't know who made the decision to put that over there.

"Disgraceful, the word that I used to Andy was disgusted.

"I'm not happy, I don't think any team should be treated like that."

Caley Thistle are scheduled to return to Cappielow on Saturday to face Greenock Morton in the Scottish Championship.
