INVERNESS Caledonian Thistle are reportedly set to rake in a seven-figure fortune after reaching the Scottish Cup final.

Reports have indicated that Caley Thistle could be set to earn anywhere between £1 million and £1.5 million, regardless of the result in the final on Saturday, June 3.

Inverness reached the final of the Scottish Cup after they defeated Falkirk 3-0 at Hampden on Saturday.

They will now face either Celtic or Rangers, with the Old Firm set to clash in the second semi final later on today.

The financial reward will come as a massive boost to Inverness Caledonian Thistle, after it was revealed earlier this year they had suffered a massive financial loss.

In the club's annual financial statement released in February, it was revealed Caley Thistle made a loss of £835,751 before tax.

In yesterday's press conference, Caley Thistle head coach Billy Dodds says everyone at the club were aware of the financial rewards reaching the final could bring.

He said: "Financially it is massive, everyone looked at the figures when it came out and it brings it own pressure.

"A chance to make £1 million puts extra pressure on you.

“It’s not just a great chance to get to a final against a team from a lower league but there is incredible financial reward.”
