Hoad eases to win at Nairn half marathon

James Hoad mastered the elements when he ran to victory at a windswept Nairn Half Marathon on Saturday.

The Thames Hare and Hounds athlete was the clear winner when he came home in a time of 69:59 almost four minutes ahead of the chasing pack.

In the latter stages of the half marathon, runners were battered by a gale force westerly wind which badly affected times.

Hoad was well clear of last year’s winner John Newsom of Inverness Harriers who came second in 73:46.
