The Inverness club suffered their first defeat of the league campaign last weekend when they went down 24–13 at Glasgow High Kelvinside.

The defeat saw them fall six points behind leaders Gala and five points adrift of second place Kelso as they lie in third place, after wins earlier in the campaign against Ayr and Dundee.

Highland welcome a Biggar team who came close to winning promotion last season, but suffered their first defeat of the campaign last weekend with a 31–13 loss at home to Kelso.

Head coach Dave Carson says Highland have a decent record against Biggar in Inverness in recent years, but knows the danger the South Lanarkshire outfit will present.

“Biggar will be no different to what they were in previous seasons,” says Carson.

“We have had some right ding dong battles with them over the years and we have never won down at Biggar yet.

“But we have beaten them a couple of times at home.

“They are always close games in Inverness where there generally is only one score in it.

“These are the games you want to play after a result like last week.

“We will have a home crowd and look to get another win under our belts before we head down to a massive challenge at Kelso, in what will be our longest trip of the season.

“Biggar will be tough as always, they have a fantastic defence and last season they conceded the least amount of points of any team in the division, even though they did not go up.

“It will be hard to crack them open, but we have to be patient with the ball and go through phases.”

n Highland 2nd XV are also scheduled to play at Canal Park tomorrow afternoon when they take on Mackie in Caledonia North Two.

In Caledonia North Three, Highland 3rd XV will look to pick up their third victory of the campaign when they travel to Turriff.

Inverness Craig Dunain will be looking to pick up their first win of the season when they travel to the Western Isles to face Stornoway.

Inverness Craig Dunain Women are not in action this weekend.
