WITH the worst of the injury woes behind them, Highland rugby boss Dave Carson is hopeful that his squad will now be able to push on for the rest of the National Division Three season.

The Inverness side are coming fresh off of a three-week fixture break, with their last game being a shock 20-17 defeat against Royal High Corstorphine on January 21.

However, Carson is pleased with recent

training sessions and is hopeful that several key players will be able to return from injury.

Most noticeably skipper Andrew Findlater has been out with a shoulder injury however it is hoped that he could return for their game against Dalziel this Saturday.

The last time the two sides met it was the Highlanders that came out on top with a 62-24 win over their rivals and they will be hopeful for a similar result this time around.

“We’ve had two or three good sessions over the last couple of weeks,” he said.

“Hopefully we can get back on track. We haven’t been playing well for the last four or five games.

“Kevin Brown will not play this week but we are hoping that Andrew Findlater will make a comeback. Grant Jamieson will be back and I’m waiting to hear about Paddy Bryden.

“Andrew is a great player and a great leader on the pitch. He’s been a big miss but it just means that the other boys have had to step up.”
