The Highland League club received a cheque of £2800 from Àban Outdoor for being the community partner to benefit from the Kessock Ferry Swim in June.

The Kessock Ferry Swim took place in June when 270 people took part in the 1200 metre swim across the tidal narrows of the old ferry route between South and North Kessock.

Representatives from Clachnacuddin worked as volunteers at the event to help make it a big success.

Àban Outdoor chief executive officer Johannes Petersen presented a cheque to Clachnacuddin chairman Alex Chisholm at a special presentation at Grant Street Park.

Petersen thanked representatives of the club for the part they played in organising the Kessock Ferry Swim.

"Clachnacuddin provided volunteers on the day to run all the car parking at the Kessock Ferry Swim," he said.

"Aban was the principle beneficiary of the event as we organise it, but every year we seek applications from organisations to become a community partner.

"An independent panel is assembled to appoint the community partner and this year it was Clachnacuddin, who receive a quarter of sponsorship proceeds.

"All the other money raised funds our community outdoor programme."

Chisholm also took part in the Kessock Ferry Swim where he managed to raise over £600 after he completed the challenge.

He says he is looking forward to taking part in the event next year.

He says the club were pleased to be community partner for the Kessock Ferry Swim and says the club hope to work with Àban Outdoors on other projects in the future.

"The financial side is a bonus for the club, but with our relationship with Àban we share the same values on the health and well being of kids," he said.

"This won't be a one off partnership, we see it is a longer term thing and we have had discussions regarding projects where we could help each other out with.

"That is how we see our relationship and some good things have come out of this."

Inverness brothers Robbie and Rory More were the first swimmers to complete the Kessock Ferry Swim in Inverness completing the challenge in 19 minutes.

The event was not a race though, with people of all abilities and including disabilities also taking part.

Àban Outdoor are involved in preparations for the 2024 Kessock Ferry Swim and applications are open to be their Community Partner for next year's event.

The application process is open to organisations based in Merkinch and South Kessock.
