The Inverness outfit had to come from behind twice during the match and got off to a bad start when they found themselves 10–0 down early in the game due to a converted try and penalty.

But Highland fought back to take the lead with Stephen Murray and Seumas Ross scoring tries with Benn Morris landing one conversion. But Dundee scored a penalty to give the hosts the lead 13–12 at half time.

Patrick Ratumaisese regained the lead for Highland in the second half with his try being converted to give them a six point lead.

Dundee scored a drop goal to reduce the gap to three points. But Rupeni Rokoduguni’s try late on gave Highland a vital bonus point and victory on the road.

Head coach Dave Carson praised the resilience of his players to pull themselves from behind to secure a victory in the first of four consecutive away matches.

“We knew what Dundee were about as they were the same against us in Inverness, they are dogged side who never give up,” said Carson.

“They are a team who are always involved in games right until the death, so we are delighted to come away with the bonus point.

“We are 100 per cent still in the title race, we are facing a run of four away matches and we have managed to get five out of the first one.

“Now we need to concentrate on getting another four or five points at Watsonians on Saturday and keep chipping away at games.

“If we do that, we will be there or thereabouts.

“We will look to get the win in Edinburgh and then we will see where that takes us as we look ahead to the two tougher away matches at Biggar and Melrose.

“But we are only looking as far as Watsonians on Saturday.”
