Highland Boxing Academy athlete Robert Stewart recorded an impressive victory as he continued his preparation for the Scottish Golden Gloves Championship.

The HBA fighter defeated Beath boxer and multi title holder Robbie Nealson 3-2 in a split decision.

After a slow start from Stewart in the first round he answered his corner's call to up the tempo and did so in coming right back into the contest in the second round.

With the third round clearly looking like the definitive round in the contest it was HBA's Stewart who pushed forward to the finish line looking dominant throughout and forcing the ref to give Nealson a standing count.

This was enough to Stewart win the contest away from home on a 3-2 split decision and keep his winning streak going in preparation to the Scottish Golden Gloves Championships which will be held in Ravenscraig next weekend.
